Raising Demons (Shirley Jackson)

(Yes, that Shirley) Shirley Jackson’s “domestic memoir” recounting life raising 4 kids in small town Vermont. It’s sardonic, funny, and clear-eyed. I picked up a copy of the (artistically superior) green cover version as a kid and read it aloud with my mom at bedtime at least twice as a kid. I have Sally (the youngest daughter shown with a cat on her head on the cover) tattooed on my arm, cat included.
